Global North–Global South research partnerships are still inequitable

Historical legacies of colonialism and inequity are still preventing us from realizing equitable and mutually beneficial partnerships. Despite increasing calls for more equitable Southern engagement in agenda-setting processes actual practice does not live up to stated ambitions. We hope that our call for addressing funding, knowledge and power issues in Northern– Southern research partnerships will awaken changes in current practices and contribute to redressing the balance.
